DSPS Policies and Procedures Handbook
The Department of Supportive Programs and Services (DSPS) at Hartnell College provides
a Student Handbook to help support our students with disabilities to navigate disability
accommodations and services through DSPS, while navigating district programs and activities.
The Student Handbook is intended to be inclusive, but not exhaustive, of the DSPS
policies and procedures that students with disabilities need to follow in order to
obtain the disability accommodations and services they are eligible for. The disability
accommodations and services each student is eligible for is determined on a case by
case basis, based on the impact of the disability for each person.
Students with disabilities who have questions regarding the policies and procedures
in the Student Handbook should schedule an appointment with a DSPS Counselor.
DSPS students, please note that reference to business days for timelines refers to
days when the district is open to the public. Generally, this is considered, Monday
through Friday, and excludes weekends, holidays, and campus closures.
