Students with disabilities who have completed their registration with DSPS, need to request disability accommodations and services each semester by meeting with a DSPS Counselor for an Accommodation Letter to be issued.  We encourage you to plan ahead, and meet with a DSPS Counselor at the beginning of a semester.

Schedule an Appointment

DSPS is currently helping students with disabilities schedule appointments by phone, email, and in person at the DSPS office.

Requesting Accommodations

Students need to make a request for reasonable disability accommodations each semester, by meeting with a DSPS Counselor.
Important
Accommodations can be requested at any point during the semester, however DSPS is not able to apply accommodations before the date the accommodation letter is signed.
Following a student's appointment with a DSPS counselor, the eligible accommodations will be emailed to instructors for the selected courses. If students add classes or change sections, students are responsible for meeting with DSPS for additional accommodation letters to be sent.
In order to test in the DSPS lab, the appropriate accommodation must be established for that semester/course. Testing requests must be received 3-5 business days prior to the exam/quiz. Business days for DSPS are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, excluding district closures. All requests must be emailed to dspstesting@hartnell.edu and include the following required information;
Name:
Student ID:
Course/Section: (Example BIO-1-1100)
Course Name:
Instructor(s):
Requested Date and Time for Exam/Quiz:
Temporary disability accommodations may be approved by DSPS, based on professional judgment, and history of services on a case-by-case basis.
