More than a Scholarship Program

MILE strives to increase college completion rates among male students in the Salinas Valley. With the support of the MILE Program, MILE Scholars of Hartnell College will achieve their leadership potential and attain personal, academic, and professional success!

MILE

MELI Scholars receive the following benefits:

Leadership Training

Three day training to develop critical life skills such as budgeting and communication

Scholarship Award

At completion of Leadership Training, students receive a $1,250 award. An additional $1,250 will be given upon completion of the mentor workshops.

Am I Eligible for MILE? 

To be eligible for MILE, you must meet the following requirements:

Must be a current Hartnell student who plans on being enrolled at Hartnell for the 2025-2026 Academic Year
Maintain enrollment in at least 9 units each semester (6 units, if DSPS recipient)
  • Must meet enrollment requirements at the time of application closing date
Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Must meet GPA requirements at the time of application closing date
All students who identify as male, both transgender and cisgender are welcome to apply
Former MELI recipients are not eligible to apply

Program Acceptance

Student applications are reviewed by the MILE Scholarship Committee. Scholars will be selected based upon academic achievement in the context of adversity, financial need, and leadership potential. Other eligibility requirements may apply
