Financial Aid Dates and Deadlines
Financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to students who complete their application by March 2nd of each year. The school will review your application and may request more information if it is necessary to complete your file. You will receive an award letter once the College has received your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the federal government.
2022-2023 Verification Document Deadline Policy:
In order to retain priority as part of an award package, the verification process must be completed by the end of the 2023 summer semester. Priority aid at Hartnell College includes, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) and Federal Work Study.
In order to retain federal aid (Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loans) as part of the award package, the verification process must be completed by whicever is sooner:
- within 120 days of the student's last date of enrollment
- by July 29, 2023 for new verification forms or
- by August 5, 2023 for follow up verification forms

If your financia aid is processed after census date your eligibility will be based on your enrollment at the time your file was completed. |

In addition, your GPA Verification must be postmarked (mailed)/submitted to the CA Student Aid Commission no later than March 2nd. Deadline for the Salinas Valley Promise Program. |
