How Audio Visual Works
By ordering ahead you allow us to move equipment around the campus either in the afternoon, or at 7:30 a.m. when there is less foot traffic, rather than during heavy class times with only 10 minutes to retrieve equipment from one classroom and get it to another through crowds of students changing classes. However, if you need equipment, and miss the deadlines, call anyway. Last minute requests will always be filled if equipment is available, and if the requests are easily filled, then as little as ten minutes warning may be sufficient. Requests are filled in the order received. Please do not move equipment from another classroom to your own. You are depriving faculty members who have requested equipment of its use and you are creating problems for AV staff when equipment cannot be found.
No equipment is assigned to a classroom except that which is mounted on the wall. Do not assume that equipment that is "always" there will continue to be there unless you request it. It remains because someone else using the room has asked for it, but if their need for it ceases, it will be moved.
Most equipment ordered will be delivered and in place when you arrive at the classroom. The exceptions are portable items such as camcorders and CD-players. These must be checked out and signed for by a faculty member in person. Please call the technician for a time when these items can be picked up. The faculty member is responsible for the equipment during loan-out and for returning it at the agreed-upon time.
