Hartnell College is pleased to welcome students and employees for in-person classes and student services available during the Summer 2022 term, June 13-August 6.

This guide applies generally to all Hartnell locations. Contact staff at the Alisal Campus and the education centers in Soledad, King City and Castroville for further details. Here is a link for a pdf version with the following information. 

COVID-19 PREVENTION

Hartnell is requiring all students and employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19 or have an approved exemption, with regular testing. In addition, the college continues to take the following safety precautions:

Health screening (self): All employees and students are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to use the Titan HST self-screening app before coming onto campus. Face coverings: All students, employees and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor circumstances. Eating is not permitted in class.

Protective measures: All campus buildings have air filtration that meets or exceeds OSHA requirements. All classrooms and other facilities in use will be regularly sanitized. Hand sanitizer dispensers are located in all buildings. Glass shielding has been installed in public reception areas.

Coronavirus information: Information about Hartnell’s response to COVID-19 is available at

hartnell.edu/about/safety/emergency/coronavirus.html. A provider called CovidClinic offers free

PCR testing for COVID-19 to Hartnell employees, students and the public Monday-Friday on Hartnell’s Main Campus and twice-weekly at the Alisal Campus and education centers in Soledad and King City. Individuals can be tested regardless of whether they are experiencing any COVID-like symptoms. The Main Campus testing clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the walkway between the Student Center (building C) and Merrill Hall (building N). Testing is offered Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Alisal Campus and on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the King City Education Center and from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Soledad Education Center.

COMING ONTO CAMPUS

Transportation: Monterey-Salinas Transit buses are serving Hartnell locations, and they continue to implement thorough sanitization procedures for passenger safety. Travel is free within the entire MST system throughout June 2022 to students with a current Hartnell ID. Information: mst.org

Parking: Employees, students and visitors may park in all designated spaces. Parking permits are required for the Main and Alisal campuses but are available at no charge. Students must register their vehicles by logging

P.A.W.S. and click on “Purchase Parking Permit” under “Financial Information.” All regular parking restrictions will be enforced.

CAMPUS SERVICES

Water: Hydration stations are on the Main campus in buildings A, B, C, F (2), H and K, as well as at the centers.

Food service: The Grille in the Hartnell Student Center (Main Campus, Building C) is open from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and closed on Friday. Seating is available in the Student Center. Starbucks is closed and will reopen August 29.

Electronic IDs (CatCard): Visit catcard.hartnell.edu to upload your photo using your PAWS login. View your CatCard by downloading the Touch Net One Card app on your phone. Use your PAWS login to access your ID.

Crisis counseling: Visit the Hartnell Crisis Counseling & Emotional Wellness Services in Building D

Mental health services are available 24/7 via a telehealth service called TimelyCare. Download the app at timelycare.com/hartnell. You will be able to talk to a licensed provider from your smartphone or any web-enabled device within minutes.

Student services: Students can receive-walk-in services for enrollment, registration, financial aid, payment and obtaining a CatCard ID. Online help is also available for many services, including Financial Aid and Admissions, via the Virtual Help Desk (see below).

Library services: The Hartnell Library/Learning Resource Center (Building A) is open on Main Campus from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and at the King City Education Center from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday. Panther Bookstore (Main Campus): Summer hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday; closed Friday- Sunday. Information: (831) 755-6775.

Child care: The Hartnell Child Development Center is registering students now for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters, with morning and afternoon sessions. Care at the center is free to most families.
