Twelve to be honored on October 22, 2022

SALINAS, Calif—Hartnell Community College District is proud to announce the Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 to be inducted at a luncheon on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the college’s main campus at 411 Central Avenue in Salinas, California. This will be the 9th annual event.

“It is such an honor to recognize those individuals and teams who left their marks on Hartnell College as student-athletes, and to welcome them back to campus where they began their extraordinary legacies,” said Hartnell’s Superintendent/President Michael Gutierrez.

Hartnell College has a rich athletic tradition and a long history of success that spans more than 85 years, producing well over 25,000 student-athletes who not only achieved success in athletics, but also in the classroom and in life.

The 2022 Athletics Hall of Fame inductees are:

"Many smiles and tears were shared at the past event by the individual inductees and their families receiving the prestigious honor," said Director of Athletics Dan Teresa. "We were fortunate to also honor two very important individuals who gave so much to Hartnell athletics in the past: Gary Shaw and Bill Elliott. The Hall of Fame ceremony has become a homecoming tradition for alumni and their families."

After the luncheon and ceremony, a wall with the inductees’ plaques will be unveiled in the gymnasium. The inductees also will be introduced during the half-time show at that evening’s football game against MPC at 6 p.m. at Rabobank Stadium.
