Gmail to Outlook transition for employees
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving security and managing costs, we will transition from Gmail to Outlook for our email services. This change is driven by the enhanced security features offered by Outlook and the evolving cost model of Gmail for educational institutions.
Refer to the service changes timeline for important dates and deadlines.
- Employees retain access to Google Suite storage and tools, including: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and Sites, as well as Google Groups.
- Storage will be reviewed on an annual base, and as we reach the space capacity and
send out communication each term to where we are for storage limits, we will notify
the district as we get close to a "Read Only" status.
- Documents will be accessible; however new documents within GSuite will not be able to be created
Employees will gain access to additional Microsoft 365 products and services.
- Employees will transition to Microsoft Outlook for email and calendars. The transition from gmail to outlook for employees will be kicked off in January 2025.
