Agricultural Business

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Agriculture program offers an Associate of Science degree and a Certificate of Achievement in Agriculture Business, Agriculture Production, Small Farm Operation and Management, Sustainable Crop Management or Food Safety. Courses in these areas provide students with skills valuable to business in the Central Coast's produce industry or with one of the many companies providing support services and products. Many of the courses are fully transferable to the California State University system. Internships and work experience are an important part of the program, providing students with experience and networking opportunities in the local produce industry. 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of any of the emphases within the Agriculture program, a student should be able to:

• demonstrate problem-solving techniques and critical thinking skills while engaged in job situations.
• prepare and deliver business documents and use math skills in appropriate form, and language essential for career success in an agriculture business setting.
• demonstrate professional and personal development of work habits and safety practices.
