Welcome!

Now accepting applications for Fall 2024.

OpenCCC

An application for admissions to Hartnell College is required if you are a new student to Hartnell or are a returning student after an absence of one year or more.   Concurrent Enrollment students are required to submit a new application every term.

Students may apply for admission by completing the online CCCApplication.  The application process is free and without obligation.  CCCapply is supported by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.  To begin the application process, please follow these steps.

New Users will need to create an OpenCCC account and Returning Users will sign in to CCCapply (the username and password is not the same as your My Hartnell username and password).

If you experience problems logging onto OpenCCC Apply, please call 1-877-247-4836 or email support@openccc.net

Answer all questions to the best of your ability and be sure to click the "submit" button at the end of the application.  You will receive a confirmation email shortly after submitting your application for admissions.

New Students will receive 2 follow-up emails.

A Welcome to Hartnell email will arrive in your inbox soon after submitting the OpenCCC Application.  This email details for next Steps for Student Success

Followed by a New Applicant email containing your Hartnell Student ID# and instructions to log in to My Hartnell portal.

Continuing/Returning Students will only receive one confirmation email and will be able to access their My Hartnell portal 1-4* working days after submitting their application.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact the Admissions and Records Office at 831-755-6711 or email admissions@hartnell.edu

California Community Colleges and ID.me

California Community Colleges works with ID.me to verify the identity of students who apply to California community colleges using CCCApply. This streamline and secures both the admissions and financial aid process while also safeguarding student information.

The ID.me role in this partnership is only for identity verification. ID.me does not approve admissions or financial aid applications. This below steps explain how to get started verifying as a prospective community college student.

The image represents the entry point to the platform, where users can securely access their accounts after logging into Open CCCAPPLY.

  • No valid identity documentation from country of origin
  • No permanent address (housing insecure/homeless)
  • No internet access or a smartphone (incarcerated)
  • Minors (under the age of 18)

For students that aren’t able to use ID.me, there will be 24/7 student support that will allow you to connect via live chat to verify your identity.

For us to verify your identity, you must provide two documents:

  1. One Photo Identification - For example: State identification (ID) card, Driver license, Permanent Resident Card, Passport, or Employment Authorization Document
  2. One Identity Document - Employment record (e.g. paystub), address verification (Any bill or financial statement showing your name and residence address), or Official birth certificate (with official translation, if any)

ID.me is the fastest and quickest option to verify your identity, so we highly encourage all students to use this expedited process.

ID.me is an optional requirement for students.

If you’re currently enrolled, these changes will not impact you at this time. They will come into effect if you have a lapse of enrollment over one year and need to reapply.
